Job Purpose: Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of marketing, partnership, and business services activities.
An exciting opportunity to gain experience in a reputable, long established, employee-owned, independent academic publishing company. We are seeking a highly organised individual who is proactive, and able to manage a varied workload, contributing to both planned activity and responsive operational support. This position provides essential support across marketing, partnerships, and business services, helping to ensure the smooth delivery of campaigns, office coordination, and day-to-day administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
1. Conference Support
Support delivery of conference activity and promotion activity at external events .
Deliver campaign logistics, materials, and checklists to agreed timelines
Process event stock, returns, and sales within defined timeframes
2. Author and Customer Relationship Support
Coordinate review copy activity and handle general author support queries.
Respond to or allocate all inbox queries within 24 hours
Maintain accurate mailing lists and fulfil review copy requests on time
3. Partnership Support & Coordination
Supporting the Partnerships Manager with defined tasks including:
Preparing and coordinating partner communications, campaigns, and information packs.
Carrying out desk research to support partnership outreach.
4. Business Services & Office Coordination
Own core office administration processes to ensure the smooth running of the working environment.
Complete weekly office admin tasks including post, supplies, facilities coordination
Maintain Health & Safety and compliance records
Monitor general enquiries
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
=Experience in an office or administrative role
=Previous work experience demonstrating reliability, teamwork, computer literacy and attention to detail, not necessarily in publishing
=Highly organised, with the ability to manage a varied workload independently
=Strong communication and interpersonal skills
=Proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach
=Strong attention to detail and administrative accuracy
=Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
